Description
Please provide standard GUI controls to disable many of the "smart" antifeatures that this plugin provides. I don't want to see annotations or other non-source text appearing in my text editor please and thank you.
Meanwhile, disabled the plugin entirely.

Research direction
The issue does not name files, tests, or specific antifeatures. Start by identifying which annotations and other non-source text the extension adds, then determine the required GUI controls and how each disabled state should be verified. Done means users can independently disable the unwanted features without disabling the entire plugin.
