Description
This package was originally created before net/context.Context was in wide use. While Sink is intended to be used on the request path, it has applications that are unrelated to the request path.
Consider updating the interfaces to support context use throughout package.

Research direction
Start by reading the package interfaces and the Sink usage described in the issue, then review how net/context.Context could apply beyond request paths. The scope is to determine which interfaces need context support while preserving unrelated Sink use; done requires an agreed package-wide interface design and corresponding validation.
