Description

When running docker.APIClient.build(), there seems to be no dangling build cache after when running docker builder prune. Could someone explain why this may be the case?

Im thinking along the lines that docker py does not interface with docker as docker cli? Correct me if i am wrong...

Research direction

Start with the docker.APIClient.build() entry point and compare its behavior with docker builder prune and the Docker Engine API. Done means explaining whether the library exposes the relevant build-cache behavior and, if a defect is confirmed, identifying a reproducible test case.
