docker.from_env() not working on Django REST Image

I have a DJANGO REST Api where i want to look at my docker images, so integrated docker with
import docker client = docker.from_env() client.containers.list()
in my views.py and its working with manage.py runserver.

However, when I build a docker image, it gives me out this error:
'Error while fetching server API version: {0}'.format(e) docker.errors.DockerException: Error while fetching server API version: ('Connection aborted.', FileNotFoundError(2, 'No such file or directory'))
Also when I only let there
import docker print(docker.from_env())
the error stays.

So i think Docker can't access its environment. Does anyone know how to get access to my docker images from a docker container?

Start by comparing docker.from_env() in views.py under manage.py runserver with the same call inside the built image. Check how the container is expected to reach the Docker Engine and use the reported FileNotFoundError to identify the missing connection. Done means the API can list Docker images or containers from the container without the exception.
