Description

Feature Request

docker build should run a docker system df to determine if the build is likely to overun the allocated disk space.

If the current active image space is greater than a configurable disk-warning threshold , the docker build command will print a warning message before continuing.

I find it quite annoying that my build will fail due to not enough space, when im 3/4s of the way through a half an hour process.

Research direction

Start by tracing the docker build command and how it could obtain the information reported by docker system df. Determine where a configurable disk-warning threshold would belong and how the warning should be presented before the build continues. Done means builds warn when active image usage exceeds the threshold without changing normal build behavior.
