Unclear how to create a new channel

Description
The process for creating a new channel is unclear. I think it would help if the creation flow was improved.
Currently, this button that is only visible on hover over the "Everything" channel allows you to create a new channel (1).
I think it would make more sense to make this a blank button under (2) like the suggested channels.
