Description

C++ modules can't call or serve RPC, so anything request/response has to stay in python. Blocked by the RPC payload format being python pickle (DIM-1456).

Research direction

Start by reviewing the existing Python RPC behavior and the dependency tracked as DIM-1456, especially the use of Python pickle for RPC payloads. Determine the required payload format and how C++ modules would call and serve request/response RPCs; done means C++ can support both directions without depending on Python-only serialization.
