Description

Visual nav needs a lossless video encoding format for recorded camera streams, because JPEG compression artifacts degrade visual feature matching. Blocked by DIM-1455, since lossless video is still a stateful codec and our recorder formats assume self-contained messages.

Research direction

The issue concerns visual nav, recorded camera streams, and recorder formats, and notes that work is blocked by DIM-1455. Start by reading the linked blocker and tracing how recorder formats handle camera messages; done means an agreed lossless video format that fits the recorder's stateful-codec requirements.
