Description

Hello,

We are actively maintaining a fork of pdf-lib that has been abandonned by Hopdings. We added really quite a huge load of features (svg support, encryption, decryption, incremental changes, attachments, etc).

We have some issues with fontkit for a while, and we discovered that the project is dead and no real fork exists and is actively maintained. We intend to create one. I discovered that you were being annoyed by that too and that a big part of the code of react-pdf is patching the fontkit lib. Maybe we could help, then?

Can you just drive us to what needs to be done on your side? Meanwhile, we will start picking the PRs that seem most relevant in the fontkit pile, review them and merge them in the fork.

Research direction

Start by reviewing the fontkit-related patches in react-pdf and the referenced fontkit PR pile. The issue names no files or tests, and completion is not defined; maintainers first need to identify which fontkit changes or react-pdf integration work should be taken on.
