### About the icon
An influential, but often overlooked language.
### Links and sources
Taken from [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smalltalk), Smalltalk is a purely object-oriented programming language. The unqualified word _Smalltalk_ is often used to indicate the Smalltalk-80 language and compatible VM, the first version to be made publicly available and created in 1980. When first publicly released, Smalltalk-80 presented innovative and foundational ideas for the nascent field of object-oriented programming (OOP).
From what I can tell there isn't an "official" icon for the language. The main motif seems to be a [colorful hot air balloon](http://astrodrive.com/bitwise/copy/programming/milestones/pm_smalltalk.html). That being said, I have seen various renditions of an unofficial logo, such as one made by Leonardo Nascimento for his [Smalltalk VSCode plugin](https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=leocamello.vscode-smalltalk), as well as one [proposed by Richard Kenneth](https://richardeng.medium.com/a-logo-proposal-for-smalltalk-e78180f3ec02).
