Onsens to cocktails

My day yesterday started off pretty great. Our accomodation made us delicious breakfast, it had a miso dish with various dishes like egg, bamboo and yoghurt. It was all very tasty, I don't normally eat breakfast but I was happy to eat this.


Damian and I decided to check out the onsen down the road as it looked over the river and the air was chilly. It was so relaxing, I felt so calm and peaceful for the rest of the morning.

We caught the 11:20am bus to Kanazawa, once we arrived we decided to get lunch as checkin was only at 3pm.

We went to a restaurant that we felt was the true Japanese experience. We shared the space with salary men who were chain smoking and drinking many beers, and the restaurant felt unchanged since the 80s. We got current udon.


We checked in and waiting for Bailey and Yashuk to join us. Unfortunately Yashuk was still unwell so he decided to stay home while we went out.

We walked around a park, then walked to a yakiniku restaurant where we also met up with Gloria.

Here they did 90 minutes all you can drink for $18. We had 7 rounds of drinks. The food here was so good, especially the wagyu.


After we went to a whiskey bar near our airbnb. The one lady working here served the whole bar, it was really impressive. At some point I asked her if she sold cigars at the bar, because I could smell the cigar smoke, but she thought I was asking for cigarettes and offered me a packet from her own bag. I felt really bad.


I was really drunk so my memory is hazy, but I remember the place having an amazing atmosphere. I definitely want to go again, maybe with some cigars this time.
