Research direction
Start by reading the linked Slinky/slurm-operator hybrid architecture and compare it with Omnia's existing cluster deployment approach. The issue mentions a possible bare-metal login-node variation; done should include a working test of the hybrid setup and confirmation of whether that variation deploys successfully.
