Pass data to MainViewController from MenuViewController

How can I pass to the MainViewController (in my app) which menu was selected. With the current architecture that can be found in the example the app would throw "Could not cast value of type 'UINavigationController' to 'UIViewController"

Read the example's MenuViewController and MainViewController flow first, then reproduce the reported UINavigationController-to-UIViewController cast error. Determine how the selected menu is passed to MainViewController, and consider the issue done when the selected menu reaches the destination without the cast failure.
