Is Deforum not working anymore with controlnet and A1111 v1.52?

The combo was working ok for me until last night, when I started to get this error suddenly.
Im not sure if its because of deforum or Controlnet's extension updates. I tried reinstalling A1111 1.52 completely.
and the problem is definitely when I turn on any controlnet node. without it, deforum works.

Im using A1111 v1.52 over v1.6, because for some reason I have not yet discovered, the older version generates considerably faster on my modest 8gb rtx 3070.
