Description

### **Title:** Redesign Marketplace UI

## **Summary:**

Redesign the Marketplace homepage with more visually engaging cards and layout to better attract buyers browsing the catalog.

#### **Epic:**

- E3: Marketing – Primary Sales

#### **Pillars:**

- P8: Browse – Explore the catalog

### **Impacted Metrics:**

- M24 (Conversion rate (sessions → purchase))
- M25 (Full funnel: visit → item view → add-to-cart → checkout → paid)

## **Problem**

The current homepage and item cards don't showcase wearables/emotes in an appealing way, making the catalog feel less inviting and likely contributing to lower browse-to-view conversion.

## **Proposal**

Redesign the Marketplace homepage layout and item cards to be more visually engaging (better imagery, motion/preview for emotes, clearer categorization) to increase time-on-page and click-through into item detail pages.
- Light theme
- Reduce colored backgrounds to drive user's attention to wearables and primary CTAs.
- **Item Detail Redesign:** Overhaul item cards and detail pages to make assets look premium and highly desirable(draw inspiration from Fortnite marketplace).
- We could trigger different emotes for each wearable category that highlight the previewed wearable (for example, for feet wearables, we could make the avatar move the feet or jump, for hands wearables we can make the avatar open the arms, say hi or put the hands in front of their body).

### Additional ideas from Discoverability Analysis

- **Dynamic Home Feed / "Latest Trends":** Add a "Latest Trends" section updated every 2–4 weeks so the homepage feels fresh and rewards repeat visits, rather than showing the same static layout indefinitely.
- **Themed Curated Carousels:** Surface editorially curated collections tied to seasons, themes, or events (e.g., Spring Season, Cyberpunk, Pride Month) as homepage carousels.
- **FOMO / Scarcity Labels:** Show "Last items available!" badges on items with low remaining stock (e.g., < 10% supply left) to drive urgency.
- **Contextual Tooltips:** Add lightweight contextual tooltips or onboarding hints explaining categories, rarity tiers, and how credits work — especially for first-time visitors unfamiliar with the Decentraland economy.
- **Default Body-Shape Filter:** Default the catalog to the user's avatar body shape so they immediately see items compatible with their avatar, reducing friction and irrelevant results.
- **"Buy Directly from Creator" Filter:** Add a filter (possibly enabled by default) that surfaces only primary-sale listings from the original creator, helping buyers who want to support creators directly.
- **Multi-Category Checkbox Filters:** Replace radio-button category filters with checkboxes so users can browse multiple categories simultaneously (e.g., "Upper Body + Lower Body").
- **"Buy Directly from Creator" Default:** Surface a "buy directly from creator" filter or default mode in the marketplace that highlights primary-sale listings, making it easier for buyers to support creators and for creators to see their direct sales funnel. This complements the creator home redesign by closing the loop between creation and sales visibility.
