[Bug] Friends section missing from Discover mid-session, reappears after app restart

## Issue description
The "Online Friends" section is missing from the Discover screen when opening Discover while already in a session (mid-play). Closing and reopening the app makes the Friends section reappear correctly.

Reported by Gon in Slack:
> Not seeing Friends while playing and clickin Discover. If i close and re-open the app it appears.

## Expected behavior
The Online Friends section should be visible in Discover regardless of whether the app was freshly launched or Discover was opened mid-session (in-game).

## Steps to reproduce
1. Launch the app and enter a scene/world (play session in progress)
2. Open Discover from in-game
3. Observe that the Online Friends section is missing
4. Close and reopen the app, then open Discover again
5. Observe that the Online Friends section now appears
