"API_ERROR Update is not a fast forward" On users uploading images

**Describe the bug**
For any user that is not someone with read-write access to the repository on GitHub, uploading an image will give them "Update is not a fast forward", or no error and won't commit any images.
The site is enabled for open_authoring, and users have been submitting article changes and new articles just fine. People with read/write access also can submit images just fine.

**To Reproduce**
1. Go to https://cheeseepedia.org/admin/#/collections/wiki
2. Upload an image through the Media tab
4. See error

**Expected behavior**
The image uploads as a commit.
