Feature request - show icons before file name

Adding file icons before the file name could improve the readability.

could look something similar to this:

Would it be possible to get the icons from the editors **"Preferrences: File Icon Theme"** ?

I don't see any recent activity in this repo. I would be interested in submitting a PR if this is still active.
