test_ssh.py is extremely flaky on MacOS

Description
On the github workflows MacOS CI, all tests in test_ssh.py are extremely flaky - they fail at least 10% of the times.
When they do, it has been frequently observed how multiple (but not all) tests in the module have a tendency to mass-fail within the same job.
