Description
Is there an existing issue for this?
- I checked and did not find my issue in the already reported ones
Describe the bug
In DT 5.7.0+437 (and also for about the last month), when using shift+ctrl+c to copy parts of the history stack or shift+ctrl+v to partially paste, Cinnamon locks up, and the only way out is ctrl+alt+backspace.
I tried with the 5.6.1 Appimage, and all was good.
Steps to reproduce
- Edit an image
Either
2a. press ctrl+c to copy the history stack
3. go to another image and press shift+ctrl+v to partially paste the history stack
Or
2b. press shift+ctrl+c to partially copy the history stack
- Cinnamon freezes. Mouse pointer can be moved, but nothing else reacts to mouse or keyboard.
Expected behavior
Both shift+ctrl+c and shift+ctrl+v should work as normal.

Research direction
Start by reproducing the freeze with Shift+Ctrl+C and Shift+Ctrl+V on darktable 5.7.0+437 under Mint 22.3 Cinnamon, then compare with the 5.6.1 AppImage. Check behavior both with and without OpenCL enabled. Done means both shortcuts work without Cinnamon locking up.
