Importing from camera blocks the UI and makes application unresponsive

Describe the bug

In GNOME, whenever an app blocks on I/O for some time, it's shown as unresponsive. That easily happens in darkable when importing images from a camera, specially if there are many new files and/or the camera access is not very fast.

Every time I want to import files from my camera, the unresponsive application dialog is shown.

Steps to reproduce

1. Click on "Copy and import from camera"
2. Import dialog is shown

Expected behavior

App keeps being responsive, i/O must happen in another thread

Start at the camera import flow invoked by "Copy and import from camera" and reproduce the issue with many files or slow camera access on GNOME. The work is done when importing keeps the application responsive and no unresponsive-application dialog appears.
