Description

Is there an existing issue for this?
  • I checked and did not find my issue in the already reported ones
Describe the bug

Opening affected images in the darkroom view causes the windows version of 5.6.0 to crash. 5.4.1 did not crash. I could at least find 2 images (logs attached) crashing out of a filmroll with 240 while most others work fine (log of one working attached)

The images can be opened in 5.6.0 running linux (log attached). Another user running 5.6.0 mac version could also open the affected images (log not available unfortunately)

Steps to reproduce
  1. open darktable 5.6.0
  2. import/select filmroll with affected images
  3. open affected images in darkroom view
Expected behavior

open the images like 5.4.1 (or other OS versions) do

Research direction

Start by reproducing the crash in darktable 5.6.0 on Windows 11 with the affected images from the linked Google Drive folder. Compare dt-win-7188.txt and dt-win-7191.txt with the working Windows log and log-linux.txt to narrow the platform-specific failure. Done means the affected images open in the Windows darkroom view without crashing.
