Describe the bug

I use a touchscreen to interact with Darktable, but input through the touchscreen is not working properly in Darktable 5.4.0. Specifically, the following interactions, which worked in several previous versions of Darktable up to and including 5.2.1, no longer work in 5.4.0:

  • Use a finger to change the value of a slider by dragging (only tapping on a specific location on the slider will change the value).
  • Use a finger or the stylus to drag along the image histogram to change the exposure.
  • Use a finger to alter the shape of a curve, such as in the tone curve module (creating the first control point works as expected, but any attempt to create a second control point appears to reset the curve).

Also, when using a finger to interact with a drop-down list widget, the drop-down list will more often than not appear in an entirely random location on the screen.

Steps to reproduce

Start Darktable and attempt any of the touchscreen interactions above listed.

Research direction

No source file or test is named. Start by reproducing the touchscreen interactions in darktable 5.4.0 on Linux/Fedora 43 and compare them with 5.2.1. Done means slider, histogram, tone-curve, and drop-down interactions behave correctly with a finger or stylus.
