Description
Is there an existing issue for this?
- I checked and did not find my issue in the already reported ones
Describe the bug
In the lighttable tab, when fully zoomed in, using arrow keys to select/navigate through images behaves unpredictably.
When culling through my images, I zoom in fully, so that only one image fills up the entire window, filter out rejected images, and use the reject hotkey/arrow keys/numbers to rate/reject images quickly. Very often, completely randomly, the image on screen will automatically deselect itself, forcing me to have to move my cursor away from and back into the image to continue.
Steps to reproduce
- Open the Lighttable tab
- Open a collection with lots of unrated images
- Set the filter to "not rated"
- Select the first image in the collection
- Zoom in fully, so that only one image is visible on screen
- Reject/rate/browse through images, navigating using only left/right arrow keys and whatever hotkeys you have bound for rejecting/rating images.
- Notice that the image on screen will very frequently be deselected.
Expected behavior
darktable should not randomly deselect images

Research direction
Start by reproducing the issue in the Lighttable tab with a filtered collection, full zoom, and arrow-key or rating/rejection navigation. Trace the selection and navigation handling responsible for the image losing focus, then verify that repeated culling no longer deselects the image unexpectedly.
