"Enlarge canvas" is a good idea- but a picker for the L-R and Top-Bottom would be more useful

Description
The "enlarge canvas" module is fantastic it comes in Red Blue and Green and White and Black - solid colours, I was thrilled when I first discovered it, I am a studio photographer working mostly in LowKey light, so I am well served with Black - most of the time.
If, instead of the solid colours , we could have a picker, then we could select a location on each edge of the image and easily match the edge. This would have the effect of a cyclorama, and if a graduated density were also added then all of our current problems would be fixed.
I hope my image comes through
I am really grateful to the developers, I hope this modification to the Expand Canvas module is taken up.
Kind regards

Research direction
No file, test, or entry point is identified. Start by locating the Expand Canvas module and reviewing how its solid color choices are represented. Done would require a decided picker for the left, right, top, and bottom edges, including the requested graduated-density behavior, with corresponding validation.
