Description

Hey folks, wanted to say thank you for the excellent piece of software! I have been using Darktable for about a year now and and have had a great experience with it.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

In lighttable, I often have the ratings filter set to only show the unrated items straight from my camera. I then use culling mode on groups of related shots and use ratings to select the best. I will rate the worse photos badly causing them to be removed from the view due to the filter. This will continue until I am left with the best from that group which I then rate highly.

If I make a mistake, pressing CTRL-Z correctly undoes the rating assignment, however the item does not appear back in culling view requiring me to exit, re-select the item, and then re-enter culling mode to continue working on the group of photos I am comparing.

Describe the solution you'd like

This feature request is for photos to re-appear in culling mode after a user issues the undo command on an action that caused them to be filtered from the view.

Additional context

This is on Darktable 5.0.1 on linux.

Research direction

Reproduce the workflow in darktable 5.0.1 on Linux: filter for unrated photos in lighttable, enter culling mode, assign a rating that removes a photo, and undo it. Trace how culling view updates after the undo; done means the restored photo reappears in culling mode without leaving and re-entering the view.
