I was researching things about Buddhism when I remembered that NaNoGenMo exists. I thought I should combine the two and procedurally generate Buddhist sutras.
I chose the Pali Canon as my corpus because it's a particularly large corpus that's easy to get a hold of in its entirety in one place. Also, I couldn't resist the urge to make a pun. (SPOILER ALERT: that's actually the real reason)
Right now I am just using Markov chains because I'm pretty shit at procedural text generation and I had a Markov script handy. I'll post my results shortly. I can't find a plaintext version of the corpus, so I am downloading and scrubbing an HTML version with promising results.
