I cannot get past the same error you debugged in your video. The fix was suppose to be moving the angular-mock script tag underneath the mochai and chai ones.

We aren't using Node, we're using Python/Apache to run out app locally, would that have anything to do with this?

Read the linked Stack Overflow question and compare the project's Angular mock, Mocha, and Chai script loading with the reported setup. Reproduce the error under Python/Apache rather than Node; done when the test runner starts or the environment-specific blocker is documented.
