Description

Semantic tags in digital publications convey information (citation, other language, reference, etc.) identified in print books by visual decorations (Italics, bold, different alignment, filet on the side, etc.).

Users need to be able to identify and understand those semantics.

[Maria](https://daisy.github.io/reading-apps-ux-reqs/use-cases/#maria) and [Javier](https://daisy.github.io/reading-apps-ux-reqs/use-cases/#javier) use cases refer to the structure of the digital content. Still, we are missing a critical use case related to semantics (identify a citation or a reference title, for example).

Research direction

Start by reviewing the Maria and Javier use cases linked in the issue and the existing digital-content structure requirements. Define the missing use case for identifying and understanding semantics such as citations, references, and other languages; done means the semantic need and expected user experience are documented clearly.
