Description

In braille, there are various horizontal line style markers, for example:
- (UK) centred dots 2-5 (solid line) end marker: used to mark the end of a chapter, document for example;
- (UK) centred dot 2 (dotted line) marker: sometimes used to mark the end of a long table, subdivisions in chapters etc
- centred asterisks - actual divider in a book where stars, circles, etc are printed
- Top and bottom edges of boxed material (in various styles)

There will be others.

Proposal:
It should be possible to mark up these markers so they will display correctly and adapt to differing line lengths.
Perhaps the closest HTML equivalent would be hr.
