Description
If your board is set to **use internal storage** and the power jumper is in the **ST-LINK** position, connecting a mini-USB cable to its port and then unplugging it while LD1 is on (right before the “Choose your PIN code” screen appears) will wipe the device.
The same applies when the board is set to **use internal storage** with the power jumper in the **USB** position: if you connect a micro-USB cable and unplug it while LD1 is on (just before the “Choose your PIN code” screen), the device will be wiped.
If you disconnect the power cable after entering your PIN - while the device is still verifying it - **you will corrupt the installed firmware** and will need to erase the bootloader and flash the device again 😄 .

Research direction
Start by reproducing the reported power-removal sequences on the affected board, including both jumper positions and USB ports, around the PIN setup and verification screens. Trace the device's power-loss handling and verify that disconnecting power in each described state no longer wipes the device or corrupts its firmware.
