Description

If you want to be sure that the adress from you companion app is correct, you have to verify the adress on the screen of your Hardware Wallet.

Currently this works in the Specter DIY by clicking on wallets then the wallet which contains the specific adress and then you have to click your way though until you see the adress you want. Then you can check if the adress on the device is the same as the adress displayed at the companion app. The numberbing of the adresses makes this process easier.

Despite that it would be much faster to just scan the Adress with the device and the device would tell you, if the adress is correct or not. This is currently not the case and the device gives you this error message:
"Host error Can't find matching app for this request: b"

In an older version of the Specter this feature was included.
( cf. https://youtu.be/eF4cgK_L6T4?si=W7p6NIiXbzTIk7Bp&t=820 , 13:40 ), at this time there was the option "verify adress". Taking this funktionallity from the older version and putting it into the "Scan QR code" button should solve the issue.
