Description

There is a new (or at least unknown to me) package "Uno: R Interface to the 'Uno' Nonlinear Optimization Solver" on CRAN, author and maintainer Balasubramanian Narasimhan who is responsible for other important optimization packages on CRAN. I think this package shall appear on this Task View as soon as possible. I suggest a description such as the following (or similar):

"Package Uno integrates the C++ solver 'Uno' for smooth nonlinearly constrained optimization. It unifies Lagrange-Newton methods, including sequential quadratic programming and interior-point methods, by decomposing them into interacting building blocks. Uno is highly competitive against other state-of-the-art solvers."

Research direction

Start by locating the Optimization task-view source and reviewing how existing CRAN packages are listed. Add the Uno package with the proposed description, then verify that the task view includes the new entry and its wording is consistent with nearby entries.
