Description

I'd like to suggest two packages for inclusion in the Bayesian Inference Task View:

  • Prova: Nonparametric Probabilistic-Statistical Variate Analysis with Automated Markov-Chain Monte Carlo https://cran.r-project.org/package=prova. It is a package for Bayesian nonparametric inference. What distinguishes it from other CRAN packages is that no posterior approximations are used, Markov-chain Monte Carlo calculations are automated, and combinations of different kinds of variates (categorical, ordinal, continuous, bounded, etc) can be dealt with.

  • Pinference: Probability Inference for Propositional Logic https://cran.r-project.org/package=Pinference. This package takes the viewpoint of Bayesian probability theory as an extension of logic. and allows to perform probability-logic calculations.

Please let me know if I can provide more information. Thank you for this task view!

Research direction

Read the Bayesian Inference Task View and compare its existing package entries with the CRAN pages for Prova and Pinference. Update the task view so both packages are represented consistently with the existing entries, and verify that the resulting content accurately reflects the two package suggestions.
