Description

I feel like the "Update asset indexes" function found under Utilities > Asset Indexes is a bit like a "Refresh" or "Sync" function for assets. I find myself doing it quite often when I want to bypass Craft's image handling (I prefer to compress PNG & JPEG images myself with the great Mac app ImageOptim, and I clean SVGs by hand). In those cases I upload the already-compressed images via S3's interface and pull them down in Craft with "Update asset indexes". I think it would make a lot of sense to put that button directly in the Assets page.
