Description

Im trying to upgrade to Craft 5 from 4.13.3 and when running craft up the project config sync fails with error:

error: No entry types exist for section ID_HERE

  • Its worth noting that the first few sections are OK but it doesnt seem to like one in particular.
  • I've tried with and without rebuilding the config before the upgrade
  • I've checked the section/entry type in the admin panel prior to upgrade and all seems to be well
  • The section is of type single

Research direction

Start by reproducing the failure with craft up while upgrading from Craft 4.13.3 to 5.5.3, then inspect project config sync for the section reported by the error and compare its section and entry-type setup in the admin panel. Done means the upgrade completes without the “No entry types exist for section” error.
