Description

Feature Request

Environment

What hardware/cloud provider/hypervisor is being used to run Ignition?

Any

Desired Feature

S3 has FIPS endpoints, Ignition should support being able to use those endpoints. The GetBucketRegion docs have an example of how to do that.

Research direction

Start with the linked AWS FIPS endpoint documentation and the GetBucketRegion example in the AWS SDK for Go. Then locate Ignition's S3 bucket-region handling and determine how FIPS endpoints should be selected; done means Ignition can use S3 FIPS endpoints successfully.
