cdrom works initially but stops functioning after several minutes

Description
tried setting up Windows embedded 2009 posready, on copy's website, using a 2GB blank image and WE2009 posready iso ( Windows embedded 2009 posready evaluation copy is officially available from Microsoft ).
installation almost complete, until the setup GUI complaint about unable to find the CDROM. tried to eject CD and insert again but to no avail.
the weird thing: before trying WE2009 posready, I did successfully installed / run Windows Fundamentals For Legacy PCs, following the exact same process.
so, the CDROM is working fine under WinFLP, but not found under WE2009 posready in the middle of installation.
is it a bug?
