Research direction

Start by reproducing v2.1.0 in VS Code using the Continue VSIX from Open VSX, then review each listed symptom and its attached screenshot. Done means the sidebar layout, repeated tab names, connection errors while disabled, and the other reported errors are isolated and each has a confirmed resolution or a separate, actionable issue.
