Research direction
Start by reading the current Term abstraction and the discussion in issue #34 to understand how file descriptors are handled today. Define what support for arbitrary virtual streams should mean for the console API, then verify that a TUI can be displayed to clients of an SSH server without requiring real file descriptors.
