Cross-compiler metapackage?

I'm trying to find a way to install a default cross-compiler for the given platform. `c-compiler` and the like only provide the native one. Would it be a good idea to also provide `c-compiler-cross_{target_platform}` for the cases where it makes sense?

Review the existing c-compiler package definitions and how target platforms are represented. Determine which cross-compilers should have default metapackages, then confirm the proposal is implemented consistently for supported targets and that the relevant package checks pass.
