Search Enhancements

I want to really thank you all for the good job you are doing maintaining the packagist website. I was just wondering if the search could include a way to filter out abandoned packages and order by either date a commit was last made or date of last commit for the list of packages returned in a search result.

Start by locating the Packagist search implementation and the code that builds package result lists. Define how abandoned packages and last-commit dates should be determined, exposed as filters or sort options, and verified in search results. The issue does not name files or tests, so the relevant entry points and acceptance criteria need maintainer clarification.
