Description
There is [a note](https://github.com/commercialhaskell/stack/blame/86038e90665b0a26077fabbd0ca354a804f65c6b/doc/nix_integration.md#L150) in the documentation that claims that on macOS non-pure `nix-shell` is being used due to locale issues. The note has been there since at least 2015.
