allow to set a param to disable SSL cert validation

for our staging we have self signed certificate and it would be nice to enable to use the importer on staging, by default the SSL certs should be validated

Verify how staging imports are configured, then define the parameter behavior so certificate validation remains enabled by default and can be explicitly disabled; add or run the relevant importer tests to confirm both paths.
