How does someone know they have an open case?

What does open mean?

Answer: Not completely sure of all the details, but we’ve been told people generally know (other than forgetting that being on probation means you have an open case). There are times when people don’t know, though. An unfortunate example - a very old case that was never fully dismissed. Also, if there’s an active investigation on them it might not be divulged to them until the investigation is concluded. In those kinds of situations it’s a bit unlikely that we could help the person figure it out. Their records might show it. (We do suggest they get their records.)
