Description
When I enable the decorations, especially in files above 150-200 lines with lots of decorations, it's like the rendering framerate drops below 20. There could be something inefficient in the code rendering them.

Research direction
Reproduce the slowdown in VS Code using a file over 150–200 lines with many line coverage decorations. The issue does not name a source file, test, or entry point, so first locate the decoration-rendering path and profile scrolling. Done means scrolling remains responsive with decorations enabled.
