Description
Going to the pull request page results in an error message at the top saying "You must now upload using a token." Trying to expand the source code view for a file leads to a spinner for a few seconds to indicate the page was working, but ultimately were redirected to a page saying there was a bad request.
It seems that the issue resolves itself after a while however causes some inconvenience.

Research direction
The issue names no files, tests, or entry points. Reproduce the pull request page error and the source-code expansion flow, then trace the request that produces the token message, spinner, and bad-request response. Done means both flows load successfully without the intermittent error.
