Description

Feature Request: Old YouTube UI Restoration Options

Description

Add options to revert specific YouTube UI redesigns: restore pre-2025 player ("Delhi" revert), pre-2024 layout, pre-2022 rounded corners, or choose from historic YouTube layouts (2008–2024).

Why

Multiple dedicated scripts:

  • OldYTPlayer (GreasyFork) — removes Delhi experiment flags, restores old player
  • StarTube (GreasyFork, 2K installs) — full 2008-2024 layout selector
  • YouTube - Revert UI changes before late 2025 (GreasyFork)
  • YouTube - Pre-October 2024 UI (GreasyFork)
  • Classic Youtube Layout (GreasyFork) — comments below video
Preferred behavior
  • Toggle: pre-2025 player UI (remove Delhi experiment)
  • Toggle: pre-2024 layout
  • Toggle: pre-2022 rounded corners / square design
  • Toggle: classic layout (comments below, sidebar on right)
  • Each toggle independent so users can mix

Research direction

No files, tests, or entry points are named. Start by locating the extension's existing YouTube UI customization entry points, then assess whether the four independent toggles and historic layout selector can coexist; done means each requested restoration option works independently, including the classic comments-below and right-sidebar layout.
