Speed slider bellow the player

⚬ PROBLEM:

I mostly watch educational videos on YouTube at increased speed, but sometimes—like when listening to music—I need to return the speed to 1.0. This currently takes three clicks, which feels slow and a bit frustrating.

⚬ SOLUTION:

I suggest adding an option for a speed slider in the "Extra button below the player" section.

⚬ ALTERNATIVES:

If a slider isn’t feasible, I suggest adding a few quick-access speed buttons that can be defined in settings by the user, like [1.0], [1.25], and [1.3], for example.

⚬ RELEVANCE / SCOPE:

I think many people today use YouTube for tutorials or educational content. A speed control shortcut or button would be highly appreciated by most of them.

⚬ "SIDE EFFECTS":

I’m aware that there is already a keyboard shortcut for changing speed, but many features have shortcuts and are still included in the UI. Also, the speed up/down shortcut is a two-key combo. I believe this feature would be more useful than some of the options already present in the menu.

Thank you! I’ve been using this extension for years, and whenever I set up a new system, it's one of the first things I install.

Start by locating the existing “Extra button below the player” controls and the current playback-speed keyboard shortcut. Review how those controls are configured in settings, then clarify whether the completed change should provide a slider or configurable quick-access buttons. Done means a usable speed control is available below the player without disrupting existing options.
