Details in https://cockroachdb.slack.com/archives/CP4D9LD5F/p1669994421475249 and https://forum.cockroachlabs.com/t/performance-issue-while-running-ycsb-worload/5763. It seems like for default configuration, we don't distribute work optimally when running the YCSB workload--in particular, load-based range splitting doesn't occur despite uneven load and a long running time.
